This. So much this by Trevor Noah.

It heartens me that there are many of my friends, on both sides of the aisle who are outraged about this. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart.

But it kills me that’s others, who’ve I’ve known for so many years, on both sides of the aisle, some being my very good friends, have said nothing or have even made the argument that things like this don’t happen in America or that my experience doesn’t mean anything. That I’m to blame for my experience and what I feel when followed by the police, when pulled over, when I worry about my children is insignificant and unreasonable.

“We shall overcome someday,” that’s the song.  That’s the anthem.

But I don’t think I’ll be around for that day and it really makes me very very sad.

Again, thanks to those who get me. And those who don’t … well, it’s been fun but we may have to part ways because I can’t do this anymore.
