Yesterday, while I was up in Lansing visiting friends, I was invited to watch RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway which I must highly recommend to you. This DVD covers the last performance of RENT on Broadway.

At any rate, ever since I first saw RENT at Miller Auditorium way back in ’98 (or some where in there), I have gained inspiration from the musical and the story of its creation. Jonathan Larson spread the idea of how important it is to live each day to its fullest because we’ll never have another today. “No Day But Today” has been my theme in the various Jaycee offices I’ve held and while the month of June, 2009 has been one of the worst ones I’ve experienced in my life, I am glad that my friend helped remind me that there is always hope in everything that we do and experience … even when hearts are breaking.

Today’s blog is a shout out to RENT and to Jonathan Larson. Today’s first video is the last video that was posted at www.siteforrent.com to commemorate the closing of my favorite show. The second one is from the 2008 Tony Awards and provides a reunion for the Original Broadway Cast.

Here’s to you Jonathan and all the gifted actors and others who have been a part of this great show.
